Q. How do I get my order?

A. Lincon Batteries has a local delivery van for trade customers. In addition, Lincon are partnered with FedEx, who we use for all other deliveries. Larger orders and orders that need to be palletised are shipped via our pallet Network. Lincon can export products around the world, however, not all battery types are suitable for export. If you are overseas and are interested in Lincon products, please contact us for further information.

Q. My battery is fitted with Transport bungs and there is a notice telling me to remove them. Why?

A. These small red or black bungs are fitted to prevent electrolyte leakage in transport and MUST be removed prior to fitment or charging of the battery. Failure to remove the bungs will mean that the breather holes are blocked during service and the battery could explode.

Q. How do I dispose of old batteries?

A. You can either return old batteries to us here at Lincon Batteries or you can contact your local authority for information about local recycling facilities. We do offer bulk collections and we operate recycling containers for large battery users. Please see our Recycling Page for more information or contact your local battery centre.

Q. Where can we deliver to?

A. We can deliver to anywhere within the United Kingdom. We can and do supply certain products worldwide.

Q. Are batteries delivered charged?

A. Yes, other than those that require activation packs or dry charged batteries. These will need to have electrolyte added as per the instructions sent with the batteries and charged as necessary. Please follow the guidance found with the battery. If you are unsure, please feel free to contact us. Every charged battery is voltage checked prior to shipping.

Q. How do I know which battery to choose to purchase?

A. We give as much advice as we can, but the guides on our websites are purely guides. Please feel free to call us for advice.

Q. I think that my battery is faulty – can you test it?

A. You will need to send the battery to us or one of our chosen partners for Test. We will then test the battery and inform you of the result. Please note that to properly test a battery can take 48 – 72 hours and on completion of the Test, we will supply a written report. If the battery was supplied by us and is within the warranty period we will only replace batteries with manufacturing faults.

Please read our Terms and Conditions for further guidance and information.

Please note – if you send a battery to us and it leaks electrolyte, you, as the sender, will be liable for any damage caused by the leak.

Q. Can I use a more powerful battery than the existing one?

A. In most circumstances, yes. However you should always seek advice if unsure.

Q. How do I know that I need a new battery?

A. Performance from the battery will be compromised. For example, in a vehicle, the battery will not have enough power to turn the engine over, or in a leisure application, the appliance which runs from the batteries performs poorly. It is possible, of course that a discharged battery merely needs to be charged.

For more information about batteries, please refer to our Battery Basics Guidelines.

Q. Battery failure due to reduced vehicle usage or frequent short journeys?

A period of short, infrequent journeys or a length of time when a vehicle is not being used can cause its battery to fail rapidly.
