Lincon Batteries History...
Lincon Batteries has been manufacturing batteries in the Southend Essex area since 1908, from the glass jar variety for radios in the thirties to the latest cold start performance polypropylene cased batteries of today.
In addition we make over 50 types of traditional hard rubber cased batteries for the classic car enthusiast. All our batteries are available dry charged, making them a popular choice for export and can be dispatched by all carriers to any UK address.
The quality of our product is something in which everyone at Lincon Batteries takes a personal pride. Our long-serving, highly experienced staff, have a genuine care for every stage of production, leading to the finished battery.
The company is a member of the Guild of Master Craftsman and The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs, organisations dedicated to the promotion of excellence and craftmanship.
Shield Batteries Group History...
Founded in 1910, in London, the Company began by producing glass jar accumulator type batteries. Manufacturing progressed through two World Wars, making hard rubber batteries, production of which continues to this day alongside modern specialist batteries.
Lincon batteries was founded in 1908 and is world famous for manufacturing hard rubber batteries. Shield Batteries Group has continued the tradition with the factory at Southend still making hard rubber classic car batteries by hand every month.
Over the years Lincon has developed many strong partnerships with quality manufacturers to augment and supplement our own manufactured products.
